Our Story
We are a family owned and run Café/Restaurant, hidden amidst a dazzling secret riverside location in Greenwich, South East London.
A charming husband and wife tale of a shared dream to be the heart of a local community, serving fresh wholesome, good quality food to be proud of. We opened our doors just a few months before Covid: “Don’t Go to Pubs and Restaurants, Says U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson, 16th of March 2020.
The battle began..
Unbeknown to us our local community had created a Crowdfund to help keep us open, we was and will forever be moved by the support, this gave us all the zeal we needed to fight for our dream…
The secret ingredient is always Love!

Come and enjoy our Afternoon tea! Available every day between 2-5pm.
Book ahead *we require 48 hours notice for afternoon tea reservations – by phone on 020 8858 0369.
Private Hire
The River Gardens Cafe is available for Private hire or group bookings with a set menu or buffet. Please enquire and we can discuss your requirements and availability.

At River Gardens cafe we offer a takeaway option. Call us on 0208 858 0369 place your order, we will give you a time when the order will be ready to collect. We look forward to taking your order.
Our Interior
Looking around you may have noticed our love for interior. We are proud to have “Teal Aura” showcasing random pieces all over the Café.
Please feel free to browse at their ever changing displays and collections or to simply relax and admire the interesting pieces they have sourced from the comfort of your seat.
Dog Friendly
Feel free to come with your pooch, there is always fresh water and biscuits available. And if you feel like spoiling your four-legged friend, treat them to doggy ice cream!!!
